Larry Holmes was born on November 3, 1949 in Cuthbert, Georgia. He won the WBC Heavyweight Title from Ken Norton on June 9, 1978. He defeated Muhammad Ali on October 2, 1980 to win the World Heavyweight Title. Other career victories were posted over Ray Mercer, Gerry Cooney, Bonecrusher Smith and Mike Weaver. Presented here is a letter from Holmes to the Nevada State Athletic Comission informing them of a change in trainers,stating that Rich Giachetti has quit.Dated 1981.
This is a signed letter from Larry Holmes.The letter measures 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches.the letter has folds from being mailed and two punch holes,otherwise clean.The signature is in ink and clean.The letter is on Larry Holmes Enterprises stationary.The letters content has to do with Holmes trainer,Rich Giachetti,quitting.Dated March 26,1981.
