Future world heavyweight champion Sonny Liston entered the 26th Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions which ran from February 23, 1953 to March 6, 1953. Liston won his first two fights and on February 25, 1953 he met Tullos Lee Mead of Memphis in the 3rd round. Liston knocked Mead out in the second round. Liston would go on to win the entire tournament. Offered here is an original, full, unused ticket for this third round fight between Liston and Mead. PSA/DNA authenticated.
