HISTORY: Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. Offered here is an original, plaster, painted lamp of Joe Louis produced in the 1930's and entitled "THE BROWN BOMBER."

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a plaster, painted lamp featuring the full fight pose figure of Joe Louis on a base with the title, "THE BROWN BOMBER." Includes wiring and lamp screw at the back. Red velvet under base. In excellent condition. Minor paint chips at back, right and base. No cracks. One of the best conditioned examples we have seen. 12 1/2" high. Vintage mid 1930's. The first we have offered.
