On August 11, 1954 at Madison Square Garden in New York world light heavyweight champion Archie Moore fought future champion Harold Johnson in the main event. Moore stopped Johnson in the 14th round in defense of his title. Moore was down in the 10th while Johnson was down in the 14th.
