HISTORY: On June 4,1971 at the Fabulous Forum Jose Napoles met Billy Backus for the Welterweight Title. Backus was knocked down twice in the 8th round. After the 2nd knockdown, the referee took Backus to the ring doctor, who stopped the fight on a cut in the corner of Backus' left eye giving Napoles the title back.
Offered here is a rare, original, on site poster for the bout which has been signed by Billy Backus and his then manager Carmen Basilio.
