On November 1, 1940 at Madison Square Garden in New York middleweight champion Ken Overlin defended his title against number one contender from the Bronx, Steve Belloise. Overlin prevailed winning a close 15 round majority decision. The referee scored it a draw but both judges gave it to Overlin. "The majority of the crowd shouted their disagreement". Overlin was down in the 6th, the only knockdown of the "furiously contested" bout (New York Times). The official scoring was: 9-6, 7-7-1, 11-4. Offered here is a rare original, on site poster for this event.
This on site poster is paper which has been mounted on backer board. Bold color and print. Bold, clear image. Has a center crease. Minor edge and corner wear. 28" x 40" (one sheet).
