Petey Scalzo (born 8/1/1917-died 6/15/1993) was an American boxer from Brooklyn, New York. Petey Scalzo fought Frankie Covelli for the National Boxing Association World featherweight title at Griffith Stadium Petey beat Covelli by TKO. Petey defended the National Boxing Association World featherweight title 6 times before losing to Julie Kogon. Petey fought Phil Zwick for the National Boxing Association World featherweight title and beat Phil by decision. Scalzo's final mark was 90-15-6-1. After his boxing career ended, Scalzo refereed boxing matches. Offered here is an original, official program for the International Golden Gloves-England vs America in which Pete Scalzo competed against Bert Barnes in the featherweight division.
