HISTORY: Johnny Wilson was born in New York on March 23, 1893. He began his professional boxing career on December 1, 1911 with a second round knockout of George Cunningham. On March 17, 1921 at Madison Square Garden in New York he won a 15 round split decision over Mike O'Dowd to win the middleweight title. In his career he fought harry Greb, Maxie Rosenbloom and Tommy Loughran. Wilson retired in 1926 with a final record of 66-20-2.
