Victorio Campolo was born on June 2, 1903 in Calambria, Italy and fought as a heavyweight in the 1920's and 1930's. His pro debut was on July 31, 1925, a win over Johnny Cipry. In his career Campolo fought some of the big name heavyweights in the division including: Ernie Schaaf, Johnny Risko, Phil Scott, Arturo Godoy, Tommy Loughran and Primo Carnera (twice). Campolo retired after his second fight with Carnera on December 1, 1934 with a final mark of 21-8-1. Offered here is an original wire photo of Victorio Campolo taken on August 16, 1929 following his victory over Tom Heeney the day before.
