HISTORY: On June 18, 1923 at the Polo Grounds in New York world flyweight champion Jimmy Wilde defended his title against Pancho Villa. Villa prevailed knocking Wilde out in the 7th round to win the title. This was Wide's last fight. Villa became the very first Filipino (Pinoy) Boxing World Champion, and thus a national hero. Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts Villain training on June 6, 1923 in for the fight.
