On May 12, 1923 at Yankee Stadium in New York former world heavyweight champion Jess Willard fought Floyd Johnson in the co feature. Willard stopped Johnson in the 11th round. In the other co feature heavyweight Luis Firpo demolished Jack McAuliffe II knocking him out in the 3rd round. Offered here is an original, first generation photo dated April 21, 1923 picturing Jess Willard, as he prepared for this fight, posing with wrestling notables Stanislaus Zbyszko and Ed "Strangler" Lewis.
