HISTORY: Jack Dempsey defeated Jess Willard in Toledo, Ohio on July 4, 1919 to become Heavyweight Champion Of The World. He held the title until 1926 when he lost it to Gene Tunney. Nearly regained it the following year in the famous "long count" fight with Tunney. Posted career victories over Luis Firpo, Georges Carpentier, Jack Sharkey, and Tommy Gibbons. Presented here is a signed photo of Jack Dempsey as champion (1923). Authenticated by PSA/DNA.

FULL DESCRIPTION: Jack Dempsey has boldly signed this 4 1/2" x 8" photo in black ink. He has inscribed it, "To My Friend Billy Gibbs Best Wishes Jack Dempsey August 12/23." The photo has been mounted on cardboard. There is one diagonal crease in the center of the photo and a crease in the lower left side. No rips or tears. Clean signature. Authenticated by PSA/DNA and comes with their label and full letter with cert # AM07704.
