Arthur Mercante was born on January 27, 1920. He refereed many fights including Ali-Frazier I, Ali-Patterson II and others. He refereed over 100 world title fights and was the first active modern day referee to enter the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Presented here is his New Jersey Referee License from 1983.
