HISTORY: Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's.Presented here is a signed letter from Jack Dempsey to a fan in 1920 when he was champion just before the Billy Miske fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a signed letter of Jack Dempsey to a fan on letterhead advertising the upcoming Billy Miske fight.The content is thanking a fan for interest in him and telling him he is rounding into shape. The letter shows many creases and folds and has the year of 1920 written on it in black marker.The letter is hand signed by Dempsey and there is a small smudge mark near the s in Dempsey.The letter measures 9 inches by 11 inches.This letter dates to when Dempsey was Heavyweight Champion of the World.
