Gene Armstrong (or "Gene Ace"), as he was known while boxing professionally, was named "New Jersey's outstanding boxer" by the New Jersey Boxing Writers Association in 1958. He was inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. Armstrong fought as a middleweight from 1955 to 1962 compiling a record of 19-4-1. Armstrong fought notables including: Henry Hank, Randy Sandy, Luis Rodriguez, Rory Calhoun and Dick Tiger. He worked for Gordon's Gin Distillers in Linden, NJ for 25 years before retiring. Genorace Armstrong, an ordained Baptist Minister, passed away on July 8, 2004, from natural causes. Offered here is an original album page which has been ink signed by Gene "Ace" Armstrong.
This is an original, paper album page. Boldly signed in ink, " To Vince The fan who is always there. Gene "Ace" Armstrong." Dated 3/7/59. Not creased or torn. Minor stain at lower left well outside of the signature. From the collection of boxer Vince Handley. 4 1/2" x 5."
