HISTORY: Panama Al Brown was born in Panama on July 5, 1902. He began his professional boxing career with a win over Jose Moreno on March 19, 1922. He won the Bantamweight title over Gregorio Vidal on June 18, 1929. In his career he defeated Willie LaMorte, Kid Francis, Teddy Baldock, Joe Ryder, Johnny King and Eugene Criqui. He retired after defeating Kid Fortune on December 4, 1942 with a final mark of 132-19-12. Brown died on April 11, 1951.                                                                                                   

Larry Gains was a Canadian born heavyweight of note during the first part of the 20th century. Born in Toronto on December 12, 1901 Gains started his professional career on June 23, 1923. Never a champion, but he did well against some who were knocking out Max Schmeling and winning a decision over Primo Carnera. He also defeated George Cook, George Godfrey and Jack Renault and fought a draw with Mike McTigue. Gains died on July 26, 1983.
