HISTORY: On July 4,1919 Jack Dempsey fought Jess Willard for the Heavyweight Title. In a fight that saw Willard knocked down several times and hurt badly the fight was won by Dempsey by a 3rd round TKO. On a blazing hot day in Toledo, Ohio Jack Dempsey ushered in a new era in boxing with his devastating victory over Jess Willard, then Heavyweight Champion. As America was at the dawn of the exciting "roaring 20's" it had a new and exciting champion to go with it, Jack Dempsey.

Offered here is a vintage 1919 souvenir postcard which was issued for this fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original 1919 postcard which names and pictures both fighters along with a view of the stadium. Unused. Bold color and clear images. Not creased or torn. Minor corner wear. Some residue on back from mounting, otherwise clean. 3 1/2"x 5 1/2."

Extremely rare, the only example we have offered or seen.
