On July 2, 1921 World Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey defended his title against the noted French fighter, Georges Carpentier at Boyles Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey. This was under the promotion of Tex Rickard and became the first million dollar gate in boxing history. Dempsey stopped Carpentier in the fourth round of an exciting hard fought battle proving to be too strong for the game Carpentier. Presented here is an original wirephoto of Jack Dempsey training for this fight with Carpentier.
This original wirephoto of Jack Dempsey is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2." There are small creases along the bottom edge of the photo. Clean with no rips or tears.
