HISTORY: On October 16, 1909 at the Mission Street Arena in Colma, California World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson defended his title against World Middleweight Champion Stanley Ketchel. Ketchel knocked Johnson down in the 12th round. Johnson arose and flattened Ketchel who was counted out by referee Jack Welch. Offered here is an original, real photo postcard which depicts Johnson standing over the knocked out Ketchel at the end of the fight as the referee counts him out.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a rare, original, unused, real photo postcard. Postcard not sent, but does have a racist fight description written on back in pencil aimed at Jack Johnson. Bold, clear image. Smudge on back, otherwise clean. Not creased or torn. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Scarce.
