LAMOTTA, JAKE-TIBERIO MITRI WIRE PHOTO (1950)

On July 12, 1950 World Middleweight Champion Jake LaMotta made his first title defense against rugged Tiberio Mitri at Madison Square Garden in New York. LaMotta banged out a 15 round decision to retain the crown he had taken from Marcel Cerdan in 1949. Presented here is an antique wire photo from this bout.
This antique wire photo from the LaMotta-Mitri bout is 7" x 9." There are several creases in the corners and along the edges. The photo is horizontally creased in the center. No rips or tears.
