Dennis "Kid" McFadden began his professional boxing career as a bantamweight on June 15, 1899 with a draw against Mike Dago. His career spanned 14 years and he amassed a record of 26-13-9. He fought significant fighters including Eddie Hanlon, Solly Smith, Caspar Leon and Harry Forbes. Presented here is an original large format photograph of Dennis "Kid" McFadden which he has boldly signed on the mount. Photo is dated on the reverse, San Francisco jan. 8th, 1900.
This is an original, first generation photograph in full fight pose. The photo itself is 6" x 9" on a mount of 11" x 14." It is boldly signed in ink on the mount, "Yours Truly Kid McFaddan."The photograph has faded slightly. There is some chipping at the mount, but not complete paper loss. The corners are soft. Slight soiling. Presents well. Exceedingly rare, the only example I have seen.
