HISTORY: Willie Pep was born on September 19, 1922 in Middletown, Connecticut. He won the World Featherweight Title from Chalky Wright on November 20, 1942. He lost the title on September 8, 1950 to Sandy Saddler. He retired after losing to Calvin Woodland on March 16, 1966 with a final record 230-11-1 with 65 KO's. Presented here is a vintage signed photo of Willie Pep. Signed in 1949 as world featherweight champion.
FULL DESCRIPTION: Willie Pep has boldly signed and inscribed this 8" x 10" photo in blue ink. He has inscribed it, "To John My Friend good luck from Willie Pep 5/21/49." There are small creases in the corners. Surface wear at top border. Clean without staining.
