SHIELDS, RANDY SIGNED PHOTO

Randy Shields was born on November 27, 1955. He fought as a welterweight with his first fight coming on January 17, 1974, a win over Victor Abraham. In his career he fought some of the best welters in the game including Sugar Ray Leonard, Pete Ranzany, Milton McCrory and Wilfred Benitez. He lost in a bid for the weleterweight title to then champion Pipino Cuevas. He retired after a win over Stewart Baynes on September 25, 1990 with a final mark of 41-9-1.
