CANZONERI, TONY WIRE PHOTO (1930)

Tony Canzoneri was born on November 6, 1908 in Slidell, Louisiana. He won the World Featherweight Title on October 24, 1927 in a bout with Johnny Dundee. He won the World Lightweight Title on August 2, 1929 from Sammy Mandell. He retired after losing to Al Davis on November 1, 1939 with a final record of 141-24-10 with 44 KO's. Presented here is a wire photo of Canzoneri and his parents after winning the Lightweight title in 1930.
