HISTORY: On July 4, 1910 in Reno, Nevada heavyweight champion Jack Johnson defended his title against former champion James J. Jeffries. Jeffries had retired in 1905, but was coaxed out by a number of people to fight Johnson, the first African-American to win the heavyweight title. Offered here is a real photo postcard of Jeffries at his training camp in Rowardennan, California. Pictured are Jeffries, Farmer Burns, Bob Armstrong, Joe Choynski, Jack Jeffries, J.Samuels, Roger Cornell, Ted Boyer, Dick Adams and James J.Corbett.
