Muhammad Ali fought Zora Folley on March 22, 1967 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Ali knocked Folley out in the 7th round to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. This was Ali's last fight before he was forced into retirement for refusing military induction. Presented here is an original cornerman sweater worn by long time Muhammad Ali cornerman and assistant Drew "Bundini" Brown. This sweater was first sold as part of the Drew "Bundini" Brown locker sale in April, 1988 and still has the original tag from that sale numbered RK8891.
This is an original white, wool cardigan corner sweater with green trim and yellow lettering. Manufacturer's tag for Gerry Cosby in the collar. Long sleeves. On the back in yellow lettering are the words, MUHAMMAD ALI. 6 white buttons, all present on front closing. On front left breast in yellow lettering is the word, BUNDINI. Nice condition with no holes. No size label, but appears to be XL. Comes with a letter from Craig Hamilton. Comes with film from the fight showing Drew "Bundini" Brown wearing the sweater.
