Regular price $750.00

HISTORY: On June 26, 1976 in Japan World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali fought an exhibition match with the famous Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki. The match took place in Tokyo. After 15 rounds it was declared a draw, but Ali took severe punishment to his legs which bothered him for years following. On the same date at Shea Stadium in New York boxer Chuck Wepner took on wrestler Andre The Giant. A head butt that was the only suspicious looking blow of the bout led to the disintegration of Chuck Wepner, the boxer, at the huge hands of Andre the Giant, the wrestler. The end, at Shea Stadium, came at 1 minute 15 seconds of the third round, after Wepner was tossed out of the ring by the Frenchman and failed to get back in within 20 seconds.

Offered here is an original closed circuit poster from the Richmond Auditorium for the matches between Muhammad Ali and Antonio Inoki and Chuck Wepner and Andre The Giant.
