Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. He won the World Heavyweight Title from Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. He announced his retirement in February of 1970 but was back in the ring later that October. He won the NABF Heavyweight Title On July 26, 1971 in a bout with Jimmy Ellis. He regained the World Heavyweight Title when he fought George Foreman in Zaire on October 30, 1974. He retired after losing to Trevor Berbick on December 11, 1981 with a final record of 56-5 with 37 KO's. Presented here is an original, hand written and signed letter by Muhammad Ali to collector Frank Tennaro regarding his fan club. Dated 2-12-89.
This is a one page letter on Muhammad Ali Farms letterhead. Boldly written in ink, "Dear Frank, I will soon start the Muhammad Ali Fan Club, and I want you to be in as my members, I will get back to you with a phone No. where you can always reach me, I will let you know when I am ready Love always Muhammad Ali after me there will never be Another 2-12-89." Ali drew a boxing ring at the bottom. Clean front and back. Has one center fold. 8 1/2" x 11."
