On March 8, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York undefeated heavyweight champions Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali fought to determine the real champion. In arguably his greatest fight, Joe Frazier prevailed knocking Ali down in the final round en route to winning a unanimous 15 round decision. Offered here is a very rare, original, souvenir felt pennant for this fight.
This is an original felt pennant still attached to the original stick. It declares, "I WAS THERE ALI ALL THE WAY SOUL CHAMP MAR. 8. 1971." Bold color and print. Stick perfectly intact. Slight soiling. No holes in felt. End appears slightly clipped. Minor edge wear. 21" long. Stick is 18 1/2" long. Extraordinarily rare. The only example we have seen.
