On July 31, 1982 at Bally's Park Place Casino in Atlantic City junior welterweights Alexis Arguello and Kevin Rooney met in the main event. Arguello dominated from the outset and knocked Rooney out in the 2nd round. Rooney would go on to become one of the elite trainers in boxing working with Mike Tyson and Vinny Pazienza.
