HISTORY: On May 23, 1970 at Sports Stadium Arena in Umag, Coatia world middleweight champiom Nino Benvenuti defended his title against Tom Bethea. Bethea had stopped Benvenuti two months earlier in a non title affair, but fortunes were reversed in this fight as Benvenuti knocked Bethea out in the 8th round.
