James J. Braddock, The Cinderella Man, was born on February 11, 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. He defeated Max Baer at Long Island City, NY on June 13, 1935 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He was an extreme underdog and earned his nickname with the win. He lost the title to Joe Louis in 1937. Presented here is the original board game "KNOCKOUT" which was produced after Braddock won the Heavyweight Title in 1935.
This is a very rare board game from 1935 called "KNOCKOUT" which pictures Braddock on the game board. Produced by Braddock-Scarnie Game Corporation of New York. Extremely rare in that it comes with the original game board, pieces, box for pieces and instructions for play. In excellent condition. Vivid color. Great image of Braddock. Very slight separation at bottom of board on seam. Box for pieces is fine. Wonderful display item. 19 1/2" x 19 1/2".
