HISTORY: On July 18, 1929 at Yankee Stadium in New York light heavyweight champion Tommy Loughran defended his title against future heavyweight champion Jimmy Braddock. Loughran won a unanimous 15 round decision in defense of his crown. n September 1929 Loughran gave up his claim to the Light Heavyweight Title to compete at heavyweight.
