HISTORY: On November 30, 1930 at Estadio Olímpico de Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain future world heavyweight champion Primo Carnera fought Paolino Uzcudun in the featured bout. Carnera struggled, but won a ten round split decision. "Although Carnera, in the eyes of most of the experts, won no less than eight of the ten rounds, Barcelona fans stoutly maintained that the Basque deserved at least a draw. The fight, which was held in the Montjuiche stadium, was attended by 75,000 persons, the largest crowd ever to witness a sporting event in Spain. Paolino blamed the referee for his loss." (United Press). Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts action in the ring and panoramic view of the crowd.
