On June 29, 1933 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York world heavyweight champion Jack Sharkey defended his title against the Amblin Alp, Primo Carnera. Carnera upset Sharkey knocking him out in the 6th round to win the title. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting Primo Carnera waving to a big crowd of well wishers when he returned to Naples, Italy on October 18, 1933 to celebrate winning the heavyweight title.
