On September 23, 1937 at the Polo Grounds in New York City four championship bouts were conducted under the promotional banner of Carnival of Champions. The fights included Lou Ambers defending the Lightweight Title with a 15 round decision over Pedro Montanez; Barney Ross defending the Welterweight Title with a 15 round decision over Ceferino Garcia; Freddie Apostoli winning the Middleweight Title stopping champion Marcel Thil in 10 rounds; Harry Jeffra winning the Bantamweight Title by 15 round decision over champion Sixto Escobar. Presented here is an original Working Press Pass for this event which was used to gain admittance to the arena.
This is an original Working Press Pass printed on heavy stock which names the event, date and venue. Stub firmly attached. Minor edge wear. Back damage from being mounted in album. Generally clean. Paper residue at bottom front. Not creased or torn. 2 1/2" x 6."
