HISTORY: On December 20, 1963 at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh world welterweight champion Emile Griffith moved up to the middleweight division and took on hard punching contender, Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. It was a mistake. Carter hurt Griffith early in the first round, and put him down twice before the fight was stopped in the same round. Offered here is a very rare, original, on site poster for this event which has been signed by Emile Griffith.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, cardboard, on site poster which names and pictures both fighters. Bold, clear images and bold print. No tack holes. Very light creases including a center crease. Soiling and light staining, mostly a result of foxing. Minor surface and corner wear. 14" x 22."
