Cassius Clay won the Olympic Gold Medal in boxing at the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics. He defeated Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He would become the first man to win that title three times. Changed his name to Muhammad Ali after defeating Liston. Presented here is an wire of Cassius Clay knocking out Henry Cooper on the first day (May 18, 1960) in the finals of the Olympic trials.
