Bob Cleroux (B-2/23/1938), also known as Robert Cleroux, was the Y.M.H.A. Montreal 1956 Golden Gloves Heavyweight Champion. He was never stopped in his pro career. He made a comeback in 1968 and won 9 straight, including an upset over Cleveland Williams. However, Cleroux "blew" a title bout with Jimmy Ellis when he lost an upset 10-round decision to Billy Joiner. Cleroux was stripped of his Canadian heavyweight title in February of 1963 for failing to meet George Chuvalo as stipulated by contract. He finished his career with a final mark of 47-6-1 which included wins over George Chuvalo, Alex Miteff, Tom McNeeley, Roy Harris and Willie Besmanoff. Offered here is a signed and personalized index card by Robert Cleroux on which he notes the three greatest fighters as Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Casius Clay.
This is an original, white, unlined, 3" x 5" index card. Boldly signed and includes personal information all in the hand of Robert Cleroux. Slight toning. Clean front and back. Not creased or torn.
