Tommy Collins (born 1/129, died 6/3/96) was a featherweight and lightweight fighter who fought from 1946 until 1954. Born in Boston Collins turned professional in 1946 and battled many of the leading contenders. He lost an important fight to Sandy Saddler in 1952, but when Saddler went into the army he defeated Glen Flanagan the same year to win the NBA World Featherweight title. Collins challenged Jimmy Carter for the world lightweight title in 1953, but was stopped. Retired in 1954 with a final mark of 61-12-0. Passed away on June 3, 1996 at the age of 67.
