HISTORY: On July 4,1919 Jack Dempsey fought Jess Willard for the Heavyweight Title. In a fight that saw Willard knocked down several times and hurt badly the fight was won by Dempsey by a 3rd round TKO. Presented here is an original, first generation photograph depicting Jack Dempsey sparring with "Big" Bill Tate at his training camp outside Toledo, Ohio on June 26, 1919. Dempsey had selected Tate because of his 6'3" height and boxing skills.
