HISTORY: On July 2, 1921 World Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey defended his title against the noted French fighter, Georges Carpentier at Boyles Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey. This was under the promotion of Tex Rickard and became the first million dollar gate in boxing history. Dempsey stopped Carpentier in the fourth round of an exciting hard fought battle proving to be too strong for the game Carpentier. Presented here is a broadside from this fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This broadside from the Carpentier-Dempsey fight is 5" x 7." There are 4 tack holes in the corners and there is some soiling along the left side. Some of the writing in "championnat" has faded. No rips or tears other than the tack holes.
