On Friday, September 14, 1923 at the Polo Grounds in New York heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey met notable challenger Luis Firpo of Argentina with the title at stake. Both fighters were down in the fight and Dempsey survived being knocked out of the ring to come back and stop Firpo in the second round in defense of his title. One of the most exciting fights in boxing history. Offered here is a pre fight advertising poster for the fight which pictures both fighters.
This is an original pre fight poster encouraging people to purchase a radio so they can listen to the big fight from a "ringside seat" in their own home. Poster is paper picturing both fighters. Has been professionally linen backed. Poster is clean. No creases, rips or tears. Great images of both fighters and promoter Tex Rickard. One minor border stain in lower left corner. 14" x 17."
