Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Presented here is an original lobby card from the movie "Daredevil Jack" starring Jack Dempsey. Daredevil Jack is a 1920 silent action film serial directed by W. S. Van Dyke. An incomplete copy of the film is housed in the UCLA Film & Television Archive film archive.
This is an original, black & white, movie lobby card which pictures Jack Dempsey in a scene where "Jack Smoothes Out A Few Kinks." Bold clear image and print. No tack holes. Crease on left edge. Edge and corner wear. Some soiling, but only on the borders. Scarce. 11" x 14."
