Jack Dempsey defeated Jess Willard in Toledo, Ohio on July 4, 1919 to become Heavyweight Champion Of The World. He held the title until 1926 when he lost it to Gene Tunney. Nearly regained it the following year in the famous "long count" fight with Tunney. Posted career victories over Luis Firpo, Georges Carpentier, Jack Sharkey, and Tommy Gibbons. Presented here is a fob from his bout with Tommy Gibbons.
This original fob is from the Dempsey-Gibbons fight from Jun 4, 1923 in which Dempsey successfully defended his World Heavyweight Title. It pictures 2 boxing gloves with oil towers behind. "Shelby, Mont" the site of the bout, is written at the top. Some minor soiling.
