On July 4,1919 on a blazing hot day in Toledo, Ohio Jack Dempsey ushered in a new era in boxing with his devastating victory over Jess Willard, then Heavyweight Champion. As America was at the dawn of the exciting "roaring 20's" it had a new and exciting champion to go with it, Jack Dempsey. Offered here is a real photo postcard of Jack Dempsey posing with his training camp members as he prepared for his fight with Willard. On Dempsey's right is his trainer Jimmy DeForest and next to DeForest is his sparring partner "Big" Bill Tate.
This is an original, real photo postcard. Photographer stamp for Livingston in lower right corner. Bold, clear image. Unused postcard with AZO stamp on the reverse. Not creased. Edge and corner wear. Clean. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2."
