GRIFFITH, EMILE-NINO BENVENUTI II PRESS KIT (1967)

On September 29, 1967 Nino Benvenuti defended his World Middleweight Title against Emile Griffith at Shea Stadium in Flushing, New York. Benvenuti won the title from Griffith on April 17, 1967 by 15 round decision. Griffith, already a 5 time world champion, was able to reverse the earlier loss to Benvenuti by successfully pounding out a 15 round decision. This would be Griffith's 6th world title and his last. Offered here is an original press kit filled with information on the fight which was given to the media before the fight.
This is an original press kit. 21 pages complete. Clean interior. Tight binding. Cover has a center crease. There is wear at the edges and cornwers and a tear at binding with no paper loss. Bold color cover. Generally clean. 9" x 14 1/2."
