On December 18, 1942 at Madison Square Garden in New York welterweights Tippy Larkin and Beau Jack foguht for the vacant welterweight crown. Jack knocked Larkin out in the 3rd round. Recognition as World Champion in New Jersey was also at stake. Larkin was down once in the 1st and 3rd, and had to be carried to his corner when he was counted out in the 3rd. Offered here is an original wire photo of Beau Jack celebrating two days after his victory over Larkin.
