HISTORY: James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He initially retired undefeated in 1905 posting career victories over James Corbett, Tom Sharkey as well as Robert Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original Jeffries Barn Certificate issued in 1938. The certificate pictures James J. Jeffries in full fight pose at lower right corner. Boldly signed in ink, "Jas J Jeffries." Has two mild folds. No tears. Clean front and back. 9" x 12." Authenticated by JSA and comes with their full letter with cert # ZZ63012.
