James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's. Presented here is an original cabinet card of Jim Jeffries dated to the late 1890's when he was world heavyweight champion.
This is an original cabinet card of Jeffries in full fight pose taken by Frank Wendt of New Jersey, with their stamp at lower mount. Not creased. Minor spotting. Slight fading. Minor edge wear. 4 1/4" x 6 1/2."
